The CTC Process

Communities That Care® (CTC) is a national violence prevention process under which communities evaluate the risks that affect healthy development of thier children and implement research-based programs to diminish those risks. The goal is to reduce substance abuse, teen pregnancy, school dropouts, delinquency and violence. In Pennsylvania, 127 communities in 58 counties are using the CTC process.

The Communities That Care® system is a community action model, based on years of research, which allows for comprehensive community-wide prevention planning.  The process ensures that communities use their existing resources effectively and efficiently to target their unique prevention needs and to positively impact youth development.

Centre County Communities That Care® is a community-based process.  This process provides a structured system in which members of existing human service organizations, government agencies, schools, the business sector, and the community can work cooperatively to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and services for youth.
